Blast Rooms

The blast room facility is designed for the blasting of large work
pieces. After the work pieces are moved into the blast room the doors are
closed, the blasting operation is performed by personnel using a hand
held nozzle working inside the room. Abrasive discharged from the blast
nozzle, together with the debris blasted from the work, fall to the
floor. The blast room floor consists of a series of small hoppers,
connected by one or more conveying ducts. The reclaiming portion of
the floor can be a single row of ducts in one area of the room. (i.e. wall
or center) or it can encompass the whole floor. From here the media and debris are carried
to a media reclaiming system, which removes debris and spent media from
the mix.. The reusable media
is stored in the storage hopper until needed in the blast generator.
